ONE BEDFORD PLACE transforms into a community museum, injecting a second life into old objects to express feelings about the past.
In recent years, there has been a trend of nostalgia in the local area, and different old cultures and old things are getting more and more attention. Hong Kong real estate developer LOFTER GROUP (LOFTER or the GROUP) has always adhered to the concept of "without the past, there would be no present" and shouldered the responsibility of preserving the old cultural footprint. Through the Group's "Building, Moving, Cultural and Creative" project, it sponsored the exhibition venue for the community museum series "Move on to TKT" jointly organized by the Hong Kong Arts Center's public art and community art project "Corner:" and Playback Concept, and will It will be held from October 26th to December 31st at ONE BEDFORD PLACE, a Grade A commercial building located in West Kowloon owned by the group.
For the "Move on to TKT" exhibition, artist Chan Po Fung led the Playback Concept team to use metalworking design methods to renovate characteristic community old objects in Tai Kok Tsui and create 10 works to record and outline the "little people" and "big history" of the neighborhood in the district. The contrasting stories witness the changes of the community through different perspectives and broaden the historical outlook of the district. LOFTER sponsors the venue for the exhibition to continue the concept of "architectural, cultural and creative", and cooperates with local artists and groups to give old items a second life and present them again in different forms, bringing everyone the value of old items. The public art and community art project "Turn on the Corner:" is sponsored by the Urban Renewal Fund, including the community museum series "Move on to TKT".
